Police are appealing for information about a robbery at a dairy in Tokoroa last night.

Two offenders entered the dairy on Balmoral Dr about 7.30pm.

One assaulted a staff member before both stole cigarettes and an amount of cash.

They were last seen running eastbound on Aotea Cres.

The store worker was checked by ambulance staff at the scene and is being supported by Victim Support.

Tokoroa CIB are continuing with their scene examination today and would like to hear from anyone who may have information about the robbery.

They would particularly like to hear from anyone who saw two people hanging around Balmoral Dr, or running eastbound on Aotea Cres around the time of the incident.

Officers are also keen to hear from anyone who hears about cheap cigarettes being sold in the area.

Information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
