Rotorua Musical Theatre's production of Evita has moved a step closer to opening, now that the set, props and costumes have arrived in Rotorua.
"The arrival of the set, props and costumes is an exciting time for everyone involved in Evita. We have spent the weekend unpacking and completing an inventory check of more than 300 costumes, including over 100 pairs of shoes and 97 hats, all which will be used during Evita," said production manager Jen Minty.
"With only two and a half weeks until we pack into the Civic Theatre - it is all coming together. Evita is a fast paced musical which keeps the cast extremely busy, with many costume and character changes throughout the show - it definitely is a fantastic production to be part of.
"Evita is told through a compelling score written by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Tim Rice - it simply is musical theatre at its best."
Evita will be produced at the Civic Theatre, within the Sir Howard Morrison Performing Arts Centre from Friday July 29 to Saturday August 13.
