Man missing in Lake Rotorua found safe

A man is being treated for hypothermia after jumping into a lake in the Bay of Plenty late last night.

A search was launched after the man was seen jumping off a wharf on Lake Rd into Lake Rotorua around 11pm.

He was spotted swimming towards Mokoia Island.

The man was located by Coastguard around 12.25am this morning in shoulder deep water.
