While the big $22.2 million Lotto Powerball prize went to a lucky punter in Ashburton last night, Rotorua didn't entirely miss out with a winning first division ticket sold in the city.
A ticket sold at New World Westend pulled in a cool $200,000 - one of five winning tickets around the country.
Other winning first division tickets were sold at Sunnybrae Superette in Auckland, Thorndon New World in Wellington and Windsor Stationery & Lotto in Invercargill.
The golden ticket for the enormous prize in last night's Powerball draw was sold on the MyLotto website, and is made up of $22m from Powerball First Division and $200,000 from Lotto First Division.
It is the largest Powerball prize won this year and it's the fourth time the top Powerball prize has been won in 2016. It is also the biggest win from a ticket purchased online, surpassing a Hokitika family's $15.7m in 2013.
