Save A patient was taken to Taupo Hospital last night after a fire caused a small explosion at a Taupo factory.
Taupo fire brigade duty officer Henry Reihana said they got the call for the fire at Pacific T&R on Miro St just after 10pm.
A spokeswoman from the Lakes District
Health Board said the patient was treated in the Emergency Department overnight and had gone to Waikato Hospital.
He said they originally sent two crews of four to the scene and later called for more firefighters, but they were stood down as they weren't needed.
Mr Reihana said the investigation into the cause of the fire is still on going.
