A 29-year-old Tauranga man has been arrested and charged with aggravated robbery and burglary in relation to Sunday's armed robbery at Mo's Bar and Casino.

This morning Rotorua Criminal Investigation Branch staff, assisted by the Rotorua Armed Offenders Squad, carried out search warrants at a number of Tauranga addresses.

This resulted in the man's arrest.

He will appear in the Tauranga District Court later today.

Inquiries into this matter are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Rotorua police on (07) 348 0099.

Information can also be provided anonymously to the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

The alleged robbery happened at the Tutanekai St bar on Sunday afternoon.

Detective Sergeant John Wilson said police were still looking for one other man in relation to the robbery.
