The Greenlea rescue helicopter was kept busy over the long weekend and last week.
On Thursday the Taupo-based rescue helicopter was sent to a woman who had injured herself mountain biking on the timber trail.
After a brief search she was located and flown to Taupo Hospital with an ankle injury.
On Friday, an English woman in her early 70s injured her leg on the Tongariro Crossing and was also flown to Taupo Hospital.
On Saturday, it was sent by the Rescue Coordination Centre New Zealand (RCCNZ) to an active beacon near Ngamatea station where they found a man suffering from a severe illness in a hunting hut and flew him to Taupo Hospital.
And on Sunday an active young man hiking with friends, sustained an ankle injury near the summit of Mt Tongariro and was flown to Rotorua Hospital.
