Quick-thinking lifeguards saved the life of a man who had a seizure at the Rotorua Aquatic Centre yesterday.
The man was spotted lying face down in the learner pool, Rotorua Lakes Council sports and recreation manager Rob Pitkethley said,
"Quick action by centre staff ensured a man, who had apparently suffered a seizure in a pool, was successfully resuscitated," he said.
"Aquatic Centre lifeguards immediately went into the pool, promptly removed the man to the poolside and commenced resuscitation procedures.
"Fortunately, after a short time, the seizure victim was able to be revived."
