Rotorua musicians are being invited to showcase their talents, and the region, this New Zealand Music Month.
Local woman and Rogue Stage director Karin Vincent will be filming musicians performing their original work in a location of their choice for the Rotorua YouTube Challenge, an initiative supported by Rotorua Lakes Council.
Ms Vincent said she was passionate about supporting local artists and allowing local voices to be heard.
Spot prizes will be drawn, which include professional recording studio time with Villa Productions Ltd valued at $1000.
Council community arts advisor Marc Spijkerbosch said he encouraged local musicians to "get creative and go wild," and show the world both their talent and Rotorua's unique environment.
