Rotorua locals only have a few more days to ensure exceptional individuals are nominated for Rotorua Lakes Community Awards closing on Friday.
The awards, established by the Rotorua Lakes Council in 1992, recognise Rotorua people who have demonstrated outstanding community service, made a significant difference to the Rotorua community, or achieved national or international recognition.
Rotorua mayor Steve Chadwick said she was pleased the selfless work of many local people was celebrated through the Rotorua Lakes Community Awards.
"We have so many amazing people in our community who devote their time to helping others without any expectation of recognition. However these awards are an opportunity to celebrate our unsung heroes, and thank them for their generous contribution to our city.
"Our high achievers must also be acknowledged because we all take pride in their success and the kudos they bring to our city and district. We also admire their commitment to being leaders in their fields.
