Rotorua was well represented at the New Zealand BBQ King competition in Ohope, taking out the top title at the event.
Hayden Cram was crowned New Zealand's BBQ King, winning a $5000 cheque at Saturday's contest.
Fellow Rotorua man Bryce Seymour also tasted success and won the chicken category.
Each contestant was judged on five dishes; pork, chicken, salmon, beef and a mystery meat, which this year was lamb. Mr Cram scored the most points overall.
Nathan Minchington from Whakatane won the mystery lamb meat section and Whakatane's Angus Findlay won the salmon section and the People's Choice Award, which included a trip to White Island with a night's accommodation.
