Transtasman kayaker Scott Donaldson will share the story of his epic journey in Rotorua - and he's bringing his kayak along for the ride.
The Rotary clubs of Rotorua and Rotorua Lakes have organised the September 25 event, with ticket sales in aid of Asthma New Zealand.
The former Rotorua athlete was rescued on July 14, just 90km shy of the Taranaki coast, having paddled more than 2200km in a cramped purpose-built kayak - enduring much of the 84-day journey without a rudder.
"He showed some great determination," said Rotorua club president Russell Dale.
