Rotorua has another candidate for September's general election.
He is 23-year-old Conservative Party candidate Michael Davidson. He has a Bachelor of Communications degree and is originally from the Waikato.
"There are two reasons why I want to represent the Conservatives. First off is the binding referenda policy, which I think represents the best form of democracy.
"If we had binding referenda in the past, I think New Zealand would still own the majority of its assets. Binding referenda would benefit New Zealand in the future as it gives power back to the citizens instead of it being in the hands of the politicians, where a majority voice can still be ignored.
"The second reason that compelled me to join the Conservatives is the hard-line policy of no parole for violent offenders.
