An expert in chronic fatigue will be in Rotorua next week sharing the knowledge she has picked up from recent world conferences on the condition.
Dr Ros Vallings is speaking in Rotorua next Friday, sharing some of the latest research and development on ME/chronic fatigue following a recent American conference she attended.
Local group spokeswoman Kathy Folley said she was hoping for a good turnout for the talk by Dr Vallings.
"She is just fantastic. We're really lucky to have her come."
Mrs Folley said Dr Vallings came to Rotorua on a regular basis seeing patients and holding seminars but she believed this one would be of particular interest because it would cover information from three international seminars Dr Vallings had recently attended. "She speaks in everyday language, not medical jargon - and that is why she is so popular."
As well as those who suffer from the illness, Dr Vallings' speech would be useful to doctors and nurses who dealt with chronic fatigue as well as those working in the alternative health fields, she said.
The talk will take place at 2pm at the Bainbridge Centre on Old Taupo Rd.
There is no cost to attend but they will be accepting donations at the door to cover costs. Because they are expecting a good turnout, Mrs Folley said people were encouraged to RSVP to mecfs.rotorua@gmail.com or by calling 0800 632 377.
