A week after his bike was stolen from his garage, Lawless Hunter was grinning from ear to ear when his father won a brand new Giant Reign bike worth $4000 from the Outdoorsman Headquarters and gave it to him.

John Hunter entered the nationwide competition by buying himself a pair of Teva Links Lunar mountain bike shoes and put his name in the draw for one of three bikes being given away.

Mr Hunter had recently bought himself a new bike and decided to give his son a surprise.

"His bike had been stolen the week before from the garage after it wasn't locked up properly so I decided to give it to him.

"He was pretty stunned. He was grinning from ear to ear when I told him."

The new bike would be well used, he said.

"It's really good. He used to ride to school but now he's riding even more."

Meanwhile, Mr Hunter is happy to have won something of value as he's only ever won small things before.

"It's pretty unbelievable really. I've never won anything like this before ... the good thing is my son will be out riding in the outdoors a lot more now instead of sitting indoors watching TV or playing X-Box," he said.
