Raggamuffin 2013 just seems to get bigger each week and now, with just days before the two-day festival begins, even more acts have been announced.
Raggamuffin 2013 kicks off this Friday with a line-up of international and local talent, featuring the likes of Darky Roots, Gappy Ranks, The Black Seeds, Common Kings and a massive series of sets from DJ Sir-vere and The Club Kingz with some very special guests. This is celebrating the release of their new compilation album - VP Pacific Reggae Volume 1, launching that night.
More special guests have been confirmed to appear over the two days of the festival, including Sammielz, Chad Chambers and Deach, who is a solo artist and one-third of the successful Kiwi hip hop band Smashproof.
Deach told The Daily Post he would be doing a short set at Raggamuffin showcasing his songs Slow It Down which features Jae'O and Be With You which features Pieter T. However, because Jae'O and Pieter T wouldn't be there, Deach has called on some mates - former Rotorua man Rio Panapa and Sam Eriwata from Sons of Zion - to take their places performing the tracks this weekend.
Deach said he was looking forward to seeing the reaction his sound would get at a reggae event, particularly because his new stuff had a reggae feel to it.
He said if all went well, he would continue with that type of music.
Fans can see Deach and his mates perform at Raggamuffin's Village Stage on Saturday.
Panapa told The Daily Post he was looking forward to performing in front of a Raggamuffin crowd again and supporting his mate on stage.
Meanwhile, House of Marley and Coruba Gold Lounge VIP areas have both sold out but there are still some tickets left for the Pacific VIP zone on both days.
