Youth Week in Rotorua will come to a climatic end featuring some big dollar prizes at a multi-sport event.
The Rotorua District Council is putting on the sports day at Western Heights High School on Sunday from 12.30pm to cap off Youth Week, a week focused on creating a society that values young people. More than 150 youth aged 13 to 18 are expected to attend the event featuring sports like basketball, volleyball, soapy soccer, touch and tug of war.
Rotorua District Council youth projects officer Jill Campbell said young people could still enter in teams of six to eight.
"Our youth council organised this multi-sport competition to celebrate Youth Week and to have activities of all kinds available for young local people.
"It's a fantastic day for teens to get active, have fun, and even be in to win some prize money."
