One of two women accused of assaulting staff at Countdown Rotorua has pleaded guilty to charges relating to a separate incident.
Cherylly Juanita Campbell aka Tapsell, 30, fruit picker, who is pregnant, appeared in the Rotorua District Court yesterday charged with driving while disqualified, refusing to give a blood specimen, assaulting a police officer, obstructing police, refusing to accompany a police officer and failing to give her details to police.
Police withdrew the charges of obstructing police and refusing to accompany a police officer and Campbell pleaded guilty to the remaining four charges.
According to police, Campbell was driving on Pukuatua St about 12.15am on March 21 and was stopped by police for a licence check and random breath test. Campbell climbed into the back seat, refusing to give her full and correct name.
She threatened to assault the police officer before biting him on the hand. She was removed from the vehicle and spat at the officer and was taken to the police station where she refused to provide a blood specimen.
