Rotorua's council is asking local people and organisations to share ideas for this year's Children's Day in the hope it can make the event bigger and better.
Children's Day is celebrated nationally on the first Sunday of March, and council will again be hosting its popular Children's Day at The Redwoods on Sunday, March 4.
In the lead-up to the event, council staff have invited those interested in sharing their ideas to a meeting on February 8.
Rotorua District Council community arts officer and Children's Day co-organiser Kiri Jarden said council had worked with community and business organisations to provide a wide range of arts, sports and games free to children and young people.
"Last year, around 2000 people attended our Children's Day and enjoyed the opportunity to try new, fun things for the whole family.
