We came here because it was a sunny morning and we felt like heading west for a drive.
Parking was easy in the sizeable carpark outside.
We walked in and immediately thought it's a bit formal inside but the outdoor dining area is fantastic - easy access to the kids' play area, petanque court and gardens.
The most unusual thing on the menu was the pinotage-infused smoked salmon, potato and dill hashcake with avocado, tomato and spanish onion salsa, wasabi and lime-infused creme fraiche ($19.80).
We ordered eggs benedict on a potato and herb hashcake, with bacon ($18.80) - which we ordered with the recommended house bubbly - and the mushroom a la greque with caramelised onions, herb potato hashcake, poached eggs, bacon, smoked paprika oil and hollandaise sauce ($22). Both were terrific.
The service was fine, the waitress didn't even mind the mess the toddler made around his highchair.
The coffee was terrific. The long black came with a side of hot water and the latte was just the right strength.
We recommend if you come here you let the kids run free on the large grassy playground, which features a playhouse, while you quietly enjoy the surrounds and great food.
Overall we thought this is a lovely spot to take your time over brunch and enjoy the peaceful setting.
