Toddler hit on busy Auckland road

A grandmother and her two-year-old grandson have been struck by a car after he ran out onto an Auckland road this morning. Police said the incident happened at 11.30am when the young boy ran out from a daycare centre as his grandmother was picking him up for the day. She chased him and tried to get him to stop but the pair were struck by a black Mazda heading northbound on Mount Eden Road, near the corner of Bellevue Road.
