The latest round in petrol price rises has begun.
Caltex has confirmed it is raising petrol prices by four cents a litre, effective immediately.
The price of diesel is going up by five cents a litre.
Caltex spokesman Bruce Hollett says the reasons behind the latest rise have been well-publicised, as the falling New Zealand dollar and the increase in crude oil put pressure on costs.
Meanwhile, Shell, BP and Mobil say they have not yet decided whether they will follow Caltex's lead by putting their prices up.
