Search for missing Mt Maunganui boy

The search for a 5-year-old boy swept into the ocean at Mt Maunganui will continue at first light today, with police vowing to do everything possible to recover him. The Tauranga youngster was playing with two cousins, sisters aged 12 and 14, on the water's edge at Shelly Beach when the three of them were swept into the sea by a large wave just before noon yesterday. The sisters scrambled on to rocks and were dragged ashore by two adult relatives shortly after. The little boy, who could not swim, disappeared.
