New Zealand beat India by four wickets in the second cricket test here today to wrap up the series 2-0 and maintain their world ranking of No 3.
Chasing 160 to win, the home side achieved the target midway through the fourth day, with Jacob Oram unbeaten on 26 and Robbie Hart on 11.
The match remained in the balance at the lunch break, with New Zealand requiring 41 runs for victory with five wickets in hand.
They lost Scott Styris for 17, caught behind off Harbhajan Singh, but Oram and Hart kept cool heads in front of a Westpac Park crowd of 4000.
Ashish Nehra had the best Indian figures of three for 34.
Paceman Daryl Tuffey was New Zealand's standout performer in the test, taking match figures of eight for 53 to end with 13 wickets in the two-tests series.
The seven-match one-day series starts in Auckland on Thursday.
