The German woman who died when she was flung off a motorcycle in Coromandel was an organ donor whose "last wish" has been granted.
Kim Andrea Sauerwein, 30, was critically injured after a van and motorcycle crashed on State Highway 25 and SH 25a on December 14.
She was flown to Auckland Hospital where it is understood she died.
A Givealittle page for Sauerwein explained that she was in New Zealand on a working holiday visa helping at a German bilingual primary school. She had was in Coromandel exploring with a friend when she took a turn to be passenger on a motorcycle.
Silke Marriott, who set up the Givealittle page, said Sauerwein was thrown off and hit the ground hard, head first. She received severe head injuries and went into a coma.
