Police divers are preparing to search Lake Wakatipu tomorrow as the search for Fabian Dobson moves into its third day.
The 27-year-old was reported missing on Monday. He was last seen on CCTV on Church Lane, Queenstown about 2am on Monday.
The Dunedin man did not return to his accommodation and has not been in touch with friends or family since.
On the night Dobson went missing he was wearing a white cap with a black logo on the front, cream coloured trousers, and a two-toned jacket that was white on the bottom half.
He is about 180cm and of slim build, Detective Senior Sergeant Malcolm Inglis said.
"Police, search and rescue volunteers, the Queenstown Coastguard and members of Fabian's extended family joined the search today.
"The groups have today searched extensively in the Queenstown Bay area and the search area has also been extended to include the Frankton and Five Mile walking tracks.
"We ask that people in the Queenstown, Frankton and Sunshine Bay area check out any buildings on their properties to assist in the search for Fabian. Business owners are also asked to check their premises."
"Fabian's friends and family are understandably very concerned that he has not made contact," Inglis said. "We ask that anyone has seen or heard from Fabian contact Queenstown police on (03) 441 1600."
