A Kaitaia man was arrested after allegedly throwing beer bottles at police during a 55km pursuit, and workers in Rotorua's CBD don't feel safe arriving at or leaving work. These are just two of the stories making headlines around the regions today.

A Kaitaia man who allegedly led police on a 55km chase, in which beer bottles were thrown from the car at the pursuing patrol car, has been arrested.

Workers in the Rotorua CBD say they don't feel safe when arriving at or leaving work - with one saying there needs to be more lighting and a stronger police presence in the town centre.
