Tauranga is revealed as the most car dependant city in New Zealand, and at least 142 Northland schools will receive extra funding next year. These are just two of the stories making headlines around the regions today.

Tauranga residents depend on their cars more and are less likely to take public transport than any other city in the country.

At least 142 Northland schools are expected to receive more funding next year under a model which provides schools with $92 per at-risk student.
