Residents in a quiet Te Puke street were greeted by armed police at first light this morning.

Armed police and members of the Armed Offender Squad raided a house on Norm Freeman Drive about 6.30am.

A police spokeswoman said officers were there executing a search warrant and left shortly after 8am.

It appeared there were no arrests, she said.
