Woman assaulted in car in west Auckland

A woman who tried to escape a car in west Auckland last night was pulled back into the car and assaulted by the man she was with, police say.

A member of the public saw a man and woman having an argument in a newer model shiny silver Sedan on the corner of Raynella Drive and Triangle Road in Henderson about 9.20pm last night.

After the altercation, the car drove on Triangle Road towards Lincoln Road with both man and woman in the vehicle, police said.


The man was described as Maori, in his 50s, and of a large build. He has long black hair and was wearing a black cap at the time.

The woman was described as Caucasian, in her 20s, with blonde hair in a ponytail.

Police are yet to locate the vehicle, or identify who the man and woman were. Police are unsure of the relationship between the pair.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the a silver sedan along Triangle Road is asked to contact the Henderson Police Station on (09) 839 0600.
