A serious crash has left the main road in and out of Stillwater cut off to all traffic this evening.
The Hibiscus Coast settlement is isolated as emergency services tend to a two car accident on Duck Creek Road.
A Fire Service spokesman said firefighters were using the jaws of life to cut a person trapped inside one of the wrecked vehicles.
The New Zealand Transport Agency said there was currently no access in and out of the north Auckland settlement.
Police said the accident happened just before 4.30pm.
A spokeswoman said two men had been taken to Auckland City and North Shore Hospitals for treatment.
