A woman found bound and gagged on the side of a road in Dome Valley remains in a critical condition in Auckland Hospital.
The woman, who has since been identified, was found by a member of the public at about 7am on Waiwhiu Rd with serious head injuries.
She was flown to Auckland City Hospital where a spokesman this morning confirmed she remained in a critical but stable condition.
Police had appealed to the public to help identify the woman, who has a distinctive rose tattoo on her left calf with the words Mum and Dad written on it.
They believe foul play was involved in the events that led to her being found lying on the road.
