A car with three occupants has rolled at Lake Rotoiti this afternoon.

The car flipped on State Highway 30 near Lake Rotoiti Forest.

A 52-year-old woman was airlifted to Rotorua Hospital by the Bay Trust Rescue Helicopter and St John ambulance crews transported other patients to Rotorua Hospital.

Bay of Plenty District Command Centre Senior Sergeant Karl Konlechner did not know at this stage whether other cars were involved or how the car rolled.

Police and fire crew from Rotorua attended the scene.
