TWO people have been taken to hospital after a truck collided with an oncoming car in Waikato.
The crash happened after the truck driver failed to navigate a corner on to Airport Road near Hamilton Airport.
The fully loaded truck then collided head on with a car and crashed onthe corner of Raynes Road, blocking the street and access to airport roads around 6.45am this morning.
A number of wooden logs fell on top of the car along with the cab on the truck.
The middle-aged driver of the truck and the 24-year-old female driver of the car were taken by ambulance to Waikato Hospital with moderate injuries.
A Waikato Police District spokeswoman said: "The truck was fully loaded and ended up on top of the car. A very lucky escape as there were no serious injuries.
"The driver and the female solo driver of the car were taken to hospital.
"The vehicle recovery has been at the scene and the roads should be back to normal soon."
