A power outage is causing delays for some train commuters this morning.

Auckland Transport tweeted a warning to travellers just after 8.10am.

"Expect delays & cancellations on the Eastern, Onehunga & Southern lines due to an overhead line problem between Westfield and Wiri."

The council-controlled organisation's spokesman Mark Hannan said delays were caused by a four-minute power cut that occurred at 7.32am.

Some ferry services are also disrupted this morning.

Auckland Transport tweeted just after 8.30am that weather had affected Gulf Harbour ferry services.

"Due to current weather conditions, all Gulf Harbour ferry services will be operated by bus until further notice," they tweeted.

Widespread disruption is expected in Auckland on Friday, when NZ Bus drivers will be taking industrial action for 24 hours. Howick & Eastern bus services will also be off the road for 24 hours in a separate dispute.

As a result, 70 per cent of Auckland's buses won't be running.
