Astronaut tweets stunning images of NZ from space

British astronaut Tim Peake has tweeted stunning images of New Zealand from space on social media.

Peake, 43, tweeted three pictures from his Twitter account with the caption: "New Zealand looking stunning in the sunshine!"


Within minutes, he received hundreds of retweets and favourites from followers.

One Twitter user wrote: "New Zealand is beautiful whatever the weather but stunning in sunshine."

Another wrote: "Breathtaking pictures! Does that kind of beauty ever gets boring? I can't imagine that."

Peake is currently living and working on the International Space Station for an expedition.
He has a background as a test pilot and a British Army Air Corps officer.

The photos have already been retweeted more than 800 times.
