The search for a German man missing in Fiordland National Park will continue tonight, with search teams using a helicopter and night vision gear.
The man was reported missing to police at 11.30am this morning after he did not return to his vehicle.
Southern District Command Centre senior sergeant James Ure said this suggests the man entered the park on Saturday.
Police have worked in the area today with ground teams and a helicopter, but as of about 10pm he had not be found.
Mr Ure said the man was a German but could not confirm his age.
