A Mt Eden man has pleaded not guilty to allegedly threatening to kill the Prime Minister earlier this year.

Dean Robert Miller, 48, is charged with threatening to kill Prime Minister John Key with a firearm in Wellington on May 22.

Miller pleaded not guilty when he appeared in Auckland District Court this morning.
