The high school several Roast Busters members attended is looking into whether its website was hacked over the weekend.

Joseph Parker and Beraiah Hales attended Green Bay High School for a time between 2009 and 2011. While there, Beraiah Hales was investigated by police after an allegation was made about an incident involving him and a female student at a party outside school hours.

Soon after those details were revealed in the Herald, conversations started on social networking sites about the school's website being hacked, and abusive comments appeared on an error message including "Beraiah Hales is a f*****t".

Principal Morag Hutchinson would not comment yesterday, other than to say she was "following it up".

She also addressed the school community on the website.

"It has been a very difficult week for our school. We have certainly appreciated the many positive messages received over the last few days as we tried to respond to an unfolding story in the regular media and an explosion of uninformed comment in the social media network," she said.

"However, it is important that we keep our immediate focus on supporting those individuals who have been most hurt in this situation. We are very clear about where our responsibilities lie at present."

Ms Hutchinson omitted to mention that Joseph Parker and Beraiah Hales had attended the school when she wrote to parents and staff about the Roast Busters scandal last week.

After inquiries by the Herald, she disclosed the details.
