An unofficial world record has been set in Auckland this afternoon at Big Boys Toys, which involved a lizard, ears and a car.

Sideshow artist Erik "The Lizardman" Sprague has the moniker because of his body modifications, which include sharpened teeth, a full-body tattoo of green scales, a forked tongue, subdermal implants and green-inked lips.

Big Boys Toys spokesman Dean Wilson says the performer has wowed and shocked the crowd at the ASB Showgrounds by towing a car, weighing a thousand kilograms, 20 metres - with his ears.

"Slightly unnerving in fact seeing a man tow something with his earlobes. The grandstand was full and I think they enjoyed the good humour and certainly one of the world's most renowned freak-show performers and he's been a huge hit here."

Big Boys Toys finishes tomorrow.
