A crash involving a passenger bus, a logging truck and two other vehicles has left a person injured in Mt Maunganui this morning.

Police were investigating the cause of the collision, which occurred just after 8am at the intersection of Tasman Quay and State Highway 2.

A Fire Service spokesman said no one had been trapped as a result of the crash, which involved a BayHopper city passenger bus, but one person had been injured and taken by ambulance to Tauranga Hospital.

The crash had also caused widespread delays along the busy route, leaving traffic backed up along Tauranga's harbour bridge.
