Save A 13-year-old Maketu girl was rushed to Tauranga Hospital by her mother last night after a pitbull bit her arm.
Emergency services and police attended the incident, which occurred on Lyndhurst Ave, Maketu about 6.30pm.
Te Puke police Senior Sergeant Deidre Lack will visit the dog's owner today with an
animal control officer.
The owner has already been told the dog is likely to be destroyed and prosecution may follow.
