CanCERN calls for govt help in ChCh insurance settlements

By Annette Lunn

The delays faced by Christchurch residents waiting insurance and EQC settlements is reaching crisis point.

That from residents collective group CanCERN, who is now calling for the government to step in and speed up claims for Canterbury home-owners.

CanCERN spokeswoman Leanne Curtis says they've gone as far as they can and people are getting desperate.

She says residents are begging for intervention so they can get back some confidence in the rebuild.

Ms Curtis says the government needs to streamline the process so there's more consistency and simplicity.
