An exhibition on Anne Frank that has been seen by more than 80 million people across the planet will be on display in Whangarei for four months from October.
The Wellington-based Holocaust Centre of New Zealand (HCNZ) has brought the exhibition Anne Frank: Let Me Be Myself to New Zealand.
The exhibition is on display in Auckland and will tour the country before arriving at Whangarei Museum for opening on October 1. The exhibition will run in Whangarei until February 8, 2019.
Created by the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, the exhibition has been hailed as a beautiful and curated experience around life and daily existence in Central Europe during the 1930s and 1940s. The life and diary of Anne Frank is the gateway for themes of tolerance, prejudice and offers visitors the opportunity for reflection and introspection in the exhibition.
Whangarei Museum operations director Allie Fry said it was an honour for the museum to have been approached by HCNZ and offered the chance to show the exhibition.
