The schedule for council meetings in Whangarei has been reshuffled in an effort to streamline services at Whangarei District Council and make more time for constituent work.
The new schedule was adopted in December and included the newly established Community Development Committee.
The formal business of council and its committees would be confined to Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays each week.
The full council meetings would also change from the last Wednesday to the last Thursday of the month.
From February, all 14 councillors, including the mayor, would sit on the new committee, which is chaired by Cr Cherry Hermon.
