3. At 7pm on any given weeknight, what are we likely to catch you watching on television?
Well three of the seven nights I'm working late, so when I get around to watching it would be either something in comedy, documentary or science ... Mythbusters.
4. What album is playing on your stereo/computer at the moment?
I listen to the radio mostly, my favourite songs would be Slice of Heaven by Dave Dobbyn and Happy by Pharrell Williams.
5. What is your favourite thing about geocaching?
The adventure of it all. I love it. It gets you out and into the real world. It's a treasure hunt, it's hiking, it's collecting, it's hiding things, it's finding things, nature, and technology. It's me in a nutshell. Taking a short stroll to an interesting location, or a hike to find a hidden waterfall, or even old war structures. It's the journey and the destination.
6. What do you think is Northland's best kept secret?
Matapouri and Whale Bay, I am sure that there are a lot of people that know about these beaches but for those that don't, they are beautiful, they have so much that you want in a beach location. Soft sand, bush, blue water, rock pools and so much more.
7. What is the one thing you could not live without each day?
A GPS device, I have a car one, handheld one, one in my phone and one in my watch. Just in case a geocache gets published and I need to go find it. Or I find a perfect place to hide one.
8. Do you have a nickname, and if so, what's the story behind it?
Riser5 - my geocaching pseudonym. It was originally created when my brother created a Trade Me profile for me.
It stands for bidding another $5 on an item. Very basic, but it's who I am known as in the geocaching community.
9. Tell us something that most people don't know about you?
I am the man who put up the Onerahi sign with my wife and friends and I am the chairman of the Onerahi Community Association.
10. Describe a typical Monday morning?
I wake up next to my wife, Maxy Connop, after working 12 hours the day before at Onerahi New World. I give her a kiss before she heads off to work while I have a sleep in. I get up and have a flick through emails and Facebook and get myself ready for work. I take care of any errands that need doing and then head off to start work at 11am.
