Great-grandmother Audrey Fry had a sleepless night on Saturday as images of Whangarei from above flashed through her mind from her skydive earlier that day.
Mrs Fry took her long-awaited skydive in honour of her 88th birthday and it was a smooth ride except for nearly forgetting to ensure her dentures were stuck in place.
The Whangarei woman's biggest fear before setting off was that her dentures would fall out while she floated back to earth.
Just as she was boarding the plane on the runway at Whangarei Airport she dashed back to her handbag and sprayed them so they would stick firmly in place.
When she landed on the ground, after falling from the sky above Whangarei Harbour, she said she was expecting her legs to be like jelly with all the adrenalin.
