Northpower will energise Whangarei and Kaipara customers' holiday budgets with an $80 tax-free credit on their December power bills.
The Christmas present comes courtesy of the Northpower Electric Power Trust (NEPT).Northpower has been giving customers an annual line holiday since 1993.
The "power break" was allocated to the 54,900 power installation control points connected to the Northpower network as at midnight on December 18.
"Just so people understand, the NEPT owns Northpower on behalf of the electricity consumers of the Kaipara and Whangarei districts and the distribution is the customer's share of Northpower's profits paid to the trust by Northpower, chairman Erc Angelo said.
"This year (2012) has been a pleasing year with the progress Northpower has made. Revenue lifted from $217.5 million in 2011 to $242 million this year and profit lifted 11 per cent to $9.6 million in the same period."
