Commercial and industrial specialist company Colliers International Whangarei ceased to exist last Monday, with the entire team joining Mike Beazley's Harcourts Optimize Realty.
The melding of teams has allowed Mr Beazley to introduce Harcourts' commercial brand NAI Harcourts to the Optimize Realty operation, with the former Colliers Whangarei personnel (Peter and Irene Peeters, David Beattie and Calvin Green) deployed to deliver the new brand, working alongside the Harcourts Optimize Realty team in the same premises at 141 Bank St.
No comment is available on the reasons behind the merger but a spokesperson for the Colliers International office in Auckland said there were no immediate plans to replace the Whangarei franchise.
NAI Harcourts is an international joint venture between Harcourts and NAI Global.
Optimize Realty founders Mike and Debbie Beazley bought the lapsed Harcourts Whangarei franchise in 2009, then took over The Professionals Whangarei office last March.
