Silver Ferns defender Katrina Grant has re-signed with the Pulse for the 2013 ANZ Championship season as the franchise target a playoff berth for the first time in their five-year history.

The Wellington side were once the easybeats of the transtasman netball competition but won five games this season under new coach Robyn Broughton.

"I'm delighted to have re-signed with the Haier Pulse," said Grant, who will once again captain the side. "After all we've been through in the last three years, there was no other team I wanted to play for. It was a no-brainer.

"Robyn has brought so much to the team and I know how determined she and the players are to kick on from 2012. We picked up five wins last season, which is good progress, but the Pulse are capable of so much more.

"There is a very positive feel about the whole organisation and everyone is working hard to improve. Hopefully next year we can show our passionate fans what we are really capable of."

The Pulse open their 2013 season against the Thunderbirds in Adelaide on March 24.
